Start with the real process
We look at how the work is done now, where time is being lost and what a better result should look like.
Beyond Basic Business exists to make everyday work simpler, faster and easier to manage. That might mean automating a repetitive process, building a practical tool, improving the way information moves through a business or supporting the parts that still need a person. The aim is always the same: less unnecessary work and a better way of getting the job done.
In real businesses, the biggest frustrations are often not dramatic. They are the jobs people repeat every day because the systems they use do not quite connect, the information arrives in the wrong format or a simple process has grown more complicated than it needs to be.
Beyond Basic Business was built around solving those kinds of problems in a practical way. Sometimes the answer is automation. Sometimes it is a focused tool. Sometimes it is human support. The important part is choosing what actually makes the work easier rather than forcing every problem into the same type of solution.
Saving time is only part of the picture. A better process can also mean fewer missed enquiries, faster responses and a better experience for the customer, which can help the business make more of the opportunities already coming in.
“Do not automate something just because you can. Improve it because it is worth improving.”
That is the filter behind the way BBB approaches systems, tools and automation.
Beyond Basic Business has been shaped by more than 20 years of working inside real businesses, particularly within the motor trade, where I have worked across mechanical, parts, customer service, branch management and business development roles.
I have also run my own businesses and worked within bookkeeping and payroll, giving me experience of the operational, administrative and financial work that sits behind a business day to day.
Alongside that, I have developed websites, automation and practical business tools, often starting with the same question: why is this job taking longer than it needs to?
That mix of experience is what sits behind BBB. Understand the work first, simplify what can be simplified, then use automation, systems or focused tools where they genuinely make things easier.
BBB is founder-led and built close to the work. The idea is simple: understand the job properly before trying to improve it. That keeps the conversation practical and the solution grounded in what the business actually needs.
We look at how the work is done now, where time is being lost and what a better result should look like.
You should not need a technical brief to explain a business problem. Plain language is enough to get started.
If a tool, automation or support process does not make the work easier, clearer or more useful, it does not need adding.
BBB is not about adding technology for the sake of it. The goal is to make the business work more efficiently.
If a system looks impressive but makes the job harder, it has missed the point.
Business owners and teams should not need to become technical experts to use a better process.
The solution should fit the process and the people using it, not force them into something unnatural.
Automation should take repetitive work away so people can spend more time on the parts that need judgement and experience.
BBB brings automation, its live EEAI product, practical tools and human support together so the solution can match the problem rather than the other way around.
Remove repetitive steps and connect everyday processes.
BBB's first live product, built to gather, structure and hand off customer enquiries more efficiently.
Build focused tools around specific jobs that are repetitive, awkward or harder than they should be.
Flexible human support where the work still needs a person.
You do not need to arrive with a technical brief or know which BBB service you need. The starting point can simply be: “This keeps taking too much time.”
From there, the process can be simplified and the right solution can be chosen.
